Where does the
money go?
Besides LIONS members having fun and building a real feeling of accomplishment,
we actually generate funds to distribute into our community. These are the
primary beneficiaries with additional donations to other service groups
and worthwhile community activities as funds allow:
- LION LEO MIAZGA & LION BOB LOWE Scholarship Fund - awarded every
June to two deserving Myersville students for college expenses
- MYERSVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY (many of our Lions serve also as members
of the Volunteer Fire Company)
- MYERSVILLE AMBULANCE COMPANY
- MYERSVILLE JUNIOR BASEBALL LEAGUE
- MEDICAL EYE BANK OF MARYLAND & VARIOUS LIONS CLUB PROGRAMS
- LIONS LEADER DOG PROGRAM - which provides for the training and donation
of a Leader Dog to a blind person at no cost to the recipient
- EYE EXAMS AND GLASSES are provided free to needy members of the community
